Resato Hydrogen Technology (“Resato”), Assen/Netherlands, a leading developer and EPC partner of hydrogen refueling solutions, is proud to announce its extended collaboration with APEX Group (“APEX”), a leading developer and operator of green hydrogen electrolysis plants for the decarbonization of industry, infrastructure and mobility. The partnership was initially established by setting up a hydrogen refueling station for trucks at the APEX headquarter in Rostock-Laage in 2022.

Now, APEX has been awarded a contract for the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of two state-of-the-art hydrogen refueling stations exclusively dedicated to filling a bus fleet of rebus Regionalbus Rostock GmbH (“rebus”) at the rebus bus depots. APEX has commissioned Resato to supply all relevant filling station components for the installation of the depot filling stations. The facilities will feature the latest advancements in hydrogen refueling technology, ensuring rapid and safe refueling operations. The hydrogen refueling stations (FSS), standard equipped with 350 bar fast fill functionality utilize Resato high pressure compression technology and are designed with a philosophy of being modular for future expansion. With the evolving hydrogen market in mind, the solution allows easy market adaptation by means of afterwards implementation of add-on modules. All Resato stations are AFIR compliant.

This strategic partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen-powered buses and drive the transition towards a cleaner and greener future. Hydrogen has emerged as a game-changing fuel source, offering zero-emission transportation solutions while mitigating the harmful effects of greenhouse gas emissions. By partnering with Resato Hydrogen Technology, a renowned expert in hydrogen refueling infrastructure, APEX is taking a significant step towards establishing a robust and efficient hydrogen refueling network.

By providing reliable and convenient hydrogen refueling solutions, this partnership will accelerate the transition towards a cleaner and greener transportation system, substantially reducing carbon emissions and enhancing air quality.

“We are delighted to contribute to this project in the public transportation sector. Our aim is to push the sustainable traffic turnaround with hydrogen fuel-powering. A growing network of hydrogen refueling stations is facilitating the decision for public passenger transport providers to convert their fleets to environmentally friendly drive technology”, Rob Castien, CEO at Resato, says.

“We are pleased to continue our partnership with Resato with this new project because we value working with excellent partners who, like us, have profound experience with reliable hydrogen solutions. We are looking forward to continuing the collaboration in future cooperations”, Peter Rößner, APEX CEO, says.

Planning and construction of the two hydrogen filling stations is to be completed by early 2024.

APEX will operate, maintain and supply the filling stations with green hydrogen with a volume of around 2,200 tonnes for a period of eight years starting in 2024.

About H2APEX

H2APEX is a merger of H2APEX Group SCA (ISIN LU0472835155, WKN A0YF5P, previously known as exceet Group SCA), which is listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, and the hydrogen specialist APEX Group. Together, the companies enter the market under the H2APEX brand. The operational core of H2APEX was founded in Rostock/Laage, Germany, in 2000 and has focused entirely on clean hydrogen production, storage and distribution since 2012. This makes the company one of the pioneers in this field. The goal of H2APEX is to become an internationally established developer and operator of hydrogen plants. In its core business, H2APEX develops, builds and sells or operates green hydrogen plants with an electrolysis capacity below 1 GW. These are used to decarbonize industrial value chains and to produce green hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives such as LOHC (liquid organic hydrogen carriers) and e-fuels. They are used, for example, in the steel, chemical and cement industries as well as other energy intensive industries. In addition, the company offers hydrogen plants for infrastructure and logistics, especially for industrial use in warehouses, ports and production facilities.
